Our Role
Employment Support Services (ES)
We provide tailored services that assist individuals in maintaining paid employment within community businesses and settings. These services occur in integrated, community-based environments.
Services Requiring Direct Contact:
Certain job support services that involve direct contact with the person may include:
- Job analysis
- Job redesign
- Coaching on workplace self-care, appropriate attire, personal hygiene, and grooming
- Job training and coaching to enhance and maintain work skills, behaviors, and coworker relationships
- Job-related counseling, including assistance with understanding earned wages and their impact on benefits
- Training and coaching related to job-related transportation
- Progress review meetings and reporting
- In-service transportation
Services Not Requiring Direct Contact:
Job support services that do not require direct contact with the individual may include:
- Arranging adaptive accommodations (e.g., modified work tasks, flexible schedules, telecommuting, etc.)
- Arranging assistive technology (e.g., ergonomic workstations, magnifiers, speech-to-text software, captioning, audio/visual cueing, etc.)
- Advocacy, negotiation, and liaison communication with the employer
- Development and strengthening of natural work supports
- Researching and coordinating job-related transportation
- Collaborating with employers to establish and implement follow-up schedules, job coach sharing, fading support, and monitoring
Group Employment Support Services:
- Formation of skilled, job-specific work crews and job enclaves for group support arrangements
- Data collection, documentation, and progress reporting on job performance
- Gathering, reviewing, and analyzing benefits to understand how changes in circumstances affect benefits
